The diaconate
Crawley Baptist Church is led by a team of trustees appointed by the church members. This team is made up of leaders we call Deacons and our ministerial staff. The deacons work together with the ministerial staff to provide spiritual leadership and oversight of the church and to act as charity trustees. The church has eight deacons.
Deacons are elected by the church at our Body Talk meeting in November and serve for a period of three years before standing down. Those standing for election must be nominated by at least three church members, be willing and be eligible to serve. Retiring Deacons may serve again if nominated and voted.
The current deacons are Ade Aderounmu, Graham Durrant, Sharon Golightly, Shamima Macadjar, Phil Munt, Graham Poole, Roney Solomon and Sarah Vincent. Their photos can be seen on the Portrait Gallery
